I have known ever since I was a child growing up on the shores of Lake Superior in Upper Michigan that I would work with my hands.  The decision was solidified when I took my first metals class at Northern Michigan University in...well let's just say it's been a few years.  It has been my passion ever since.  The journey has taken me to Vail, Colorado, where I worked as a goldsmith for 15 years.  It has also taken me to Fort Collins, Colorado, where I currently reside, and where I earned my M.F.A. at Colorado State University in 1998.  This enables me to teach at the university level and share my love of the medium with others, which I do part time at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Flying Anvil Designs was formally launched in 1998, which keeps me designing and creating in my studio full time.  I remain active in the metals community by teaching various workshops, through SNAG; The Society of North American Goldsmiths, and COMA; The Colorado Metalsmithing Association.  Enjoy browsing through my website and feel free to contact me with any questions about my work.  Pieces from the three series on my website are available through the galleries listed under "Gallery Affiliations".  If you are in the market for a custom piece to celebrate a special occasion please contact me and put my years of expertise and creativity to work for you.  Thank you for your interest in my work.
